Hi, I’m a Colorado based UX Designer looking for my next role.

I'm a Master Certified UI/UX professional with 10+ years of experience creating tested and refined user-friendly digital experiences and visual designs. I bring a unique perspective to strategic conversations and creative processes, combining marketing, visual design, user experience, and user interface design skills. I'm passionate about advocating for the user and believe every organization needs a user centered voice to create valuable products. I love to collaborate with cross-functional teams in order to deliver designs that exceed expectations and align with business goals and user needs.

While I look for my next role, most of my time is spent with my 2 kiddos, Jude and Gold, and my wife, Lesley. We try to get outside as much as possible. We love tubing, Lyon’s music festivals, mountain biking and skiing - taking advantage of everything Colorado has to offer. I also co-lead a growth-oriented men’s group focusing our work on being advocates for each other, accountability, goal setting and working to show up more fully and present in all aspects of life. Relationships and communication are two of my top values, and I truly believe they are an essential component of being a trustworthy team member and producing truly, user-centered work.

It all starts with an idea, then it’s a repeatable process.

Webroot

Wifi Security VPN

Overview
Webroot consumers wanted a product that kept their data safe while banking, browsing and shopping on public wifi. The VPN app needed to incorporate real-time threat intelligence, Webroot’s cornerstone platform, as a product differentiator and ensured a level of trust between Webroot and its customers. The app provided users with a trusted way to keep their data safe from unwanted hackers.

Process
We continuously user tested between design interations with different interaction models. We used the learnings to inform the next interation with a focus on ease of use and eliminating onboarding confusion. I led the discovery, wire framing and final experience.

Webroot

Custom Design System

Overview
Webroot had a disparate product line. Interactions, components, colors, typography all were unique to a product due to silo’d teams and an undeveloped UX/UI team. Product design was led by the developers and product managers without any, or much input at all from the one or two UX designers on staff. Customers needed a consistent experience across the product line to build loyalty, trust, increase usability and accessibility of each product.

Process
This was a major cross functional effort led by the newly formed UX team at Webroot. I along with another UI designer led the design system effort. Research, interviews, discovery, testing, and AAA accessibility all were required and key to the success of the new system.

Responsibilities
User Experience Design
Visual Design
Qualitative Research

Team
The team consisted of cross-functional roles from UX leadership, product marketing, marketing, sales, developers, engineers, and c-suite leadership. Interviews with existing customers were also held on and off site.

Security Awareness Training

Feature worked
Webroot Security Awareness Training is a product within the Management Console that supports efforts to train users via Phishing simulations and Training Programs. AutoPilot is a feature within Security Awareness Training that allows users to turn on automatic programming for phishing simulations and training campaigns. AutoPilot was unique in the market, as it allowed for seamless and easy campaign management. Designed as a set it and forget it feature, users wanted to spend less time creating and managing campaigns and more time dialing in who needed additional training and when.

Process
This being a major feature release within the product, extensive prototyping and user testing was required. I worked to develop a working prototype in XD that was used to test 9 participants on the feature. We used to user testing data to make feature enhancements and interate to ensure that when it was released, it was adopted and saved time for out users.

Responsibilities
User Experience Design
Visual Design
Quantitative and Qualitative Research

Team
The team consisted of UX, Security Awareness Training PM, developers and QA.

Additional Webroot features worked

Webroot: Endpoint Agent

Completed a full redesign of the Webroot Agent for business and consumer markets. Was not released or worked due to prioritization.

Security Awareness Training: Content Gallery

Created a massive content gallery for all Security Awareness Training content including: phishing emails, phishing landing pages, infographics, training campaigns, and training campaign email invitations. Allowing users to select and add to a new campaign.

Management Console: Custom Columns for Tables

Created a custom column feature that allowed users to choose the datapoints and positions of those data points across a given table in the console. Also, allowed users to create a custom view that was sticky across logins and computers.

Security Awareness Training: Campaign Reporting

Created all new, and cohesive reporting across Security Awareness Training. Reports for both phishing, training and remedial campaigns that all were connected allowing users to navigate between reports smoothly. Also gave the option for a custom PDF download, optional data visualizations including sanky diagrams, and actions to take inside of the reports to clear errors and various admin tasks.

Security Awareness Training: Remedial Training Campaigns

Designed a flow and feature that allowed users to create training campaigns based off of users failing phishing simulations. Remedial campaigns were set up alongside phishing simulations and sent automatically after fails.

Security Awareness Training: User Risk

Began work on a feature to allow admins to view the risk profiles for users, sites, and groups of sites within the management console. I worked on wireframes and user flows before I left the company.
